Now a third child is on the way and this will be a necessity. New 2-kid trailer is quite expensive and probably will not fulfill all our needs &#8230; so it&#8217;s a challenge for a new project :)<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We think that for the price of a new trailer we can build one with features we really need. It will be heavier than commercial one but that doesn&#8217;t matter &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cos.sk\/1355\/elektromotor-na-tandem\/\">our electric motor<\/a> it powerful enough :). Important is that it&#8217;s spacious and incorporates our ideas about an ideal trailer. Surprisingly I didn&#8217;t find any similar project on the internet which I could take like an inspiration. I just have one photo of Kim travelling with his 2 boys in South America &#8211; I remember he said, the trailer weights 200kg &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cos.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Kimov-vozik.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1383\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cos.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Kimov-vozik.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1476\" height=\"868\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cos.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Kimov-vozik.jpg 1476w, https:\/\/www.cos.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Kimov-vozik-300x176.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.cos.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Kimov-vozik-768x452.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 706px) 89vw, (max-width: 767px) 82vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After the first brainstorming about <strong>new bicycle trailer\u00a0project<\/strong>, these are the features it could have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>rear pup-up deck for a short transport of the older child<\/li>\n<li>place for luggage in one waterproof bag<\/li>\n<li>adjustable wheels &#8211; because of different weight distribution depending on the load<\/li>\n<li>suspension<\/li>\n<li>brakes<\/li>\n<li>flat floor inside where the children can play + adjustable seats for more effective space utilization<\/li>\n<li>simple way to reduce the width so it can pass through doors<\/li>\n<li>possibility to park it in a small place &#8211; like stand vertically on the rear side<\/li>\n<li>can be used as a stroller &#8211; so it cannot be an ugly monster<\/li>\n<li>detachable roof construction &#8211; maybe some kind of tent with poles<\/li>\n<li>possibility to carry it on the roof of our car together with Rusty<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other non-realistic ideas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>attaching tent or roof where all of us can hide in bad weather<\/li>\n<li>electric motor drive + rear deck for mum so she can use it like a electric stroller-car :)<\/li>\n<li>converting it to floor where also adults can sleep<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll keep you updated about further process :)<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Already with two children we realized it would be nice to have a trailer for two.
